Barbara J. Buckner 77, of Owensboro, departed this life on Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Heartford House. She was born to the late Troy Jackson and Eula Kelly. Preceding her in death was her husband, John Buckner; one brother, Melvin Henry Jr.; and one sister, Floydia Henry. She was retired from Swedish Match, formerly known as Pinkerton Tobacco Co. Barbara was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she served as president of the Pastor's Aide Committee and worked with the Culinary Group of the church. She loved cooking, shopping, and traveling. She leaves to cherish her memories and mourn the loss of her passing two sons, Leon (Ella) Jackson, and Trent Jackson; three daughters, LaDonna Buckner, Gayle Buckner, and Denisha (Ryan) Bumpers; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one step-son, Ray Buckner; one step-daughter, Jean Ann Webb; two sisters, Carolyn Carter and Melvanna Henry; two brothers, Charles Brown and Forrest Henry; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday at the church, and 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at the church. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
