Benjamin Franklin 'Frank' Adams, of Hawesville, KY passed away March 23, 2024 while in the care of Owensboro Health Regional Hospital (Hospice). He was born in Lewisport, KY on January 26, 1938 to the late Willie C. Sr. and George Ella Adams. Frank retired from the United States Navy on May 4, 1977. After retirement from the Navy, he went on to work at Commonwealth. He enjoyed repairing engines, tinkering with old cars, and watching westerns. He had a great love for his family, but mostly enjoyed the status of 'pawpaw' with his grandchildren. He accepted Christ as his Savior and truly loved the Lord. He was a faithful member of Blessed Sacrament Chapel. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Gloria Dean Adams; brothers, Willie C. Adams, Jr., Bing Adams, David Adams, James Adams, and sister, Rebecca A. Mundy. Frank is survived by a son, Benji Adams, and his children; Tyler Adams, Brandi Adams, Brooklyn Adams, Benjamin Adams, Courtland Burroughs, Benjamin Adams, Walter Bailey, and Uriah English. He is also survived by a brother, Norman E. Adams (Karla), a sister-in-law, Violetta Adams and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Frank served his nation faithfully in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Chief Officer. He received an honorable discharge on May 4, 1977. He also received various military awards and medals including; Second Good Conduct Award for service, a National Defense Service Medal and a Vietnam Service Medal. Funeral Mass: Saturday, April 6, 2024, 10:00 a.m., Saint Stephen Cathedral, 610 Locust Street, Owensboro, KY 42301 Viewing and Visitation: Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., McFarland Funeral Home, 1001 West 5th Street, Owensboro. Burial: Following the Mass, Lewisport Cemetery, Lewisport, KY 42351 Military Honors at the cemetery performed jointly by Local (Daviess County) VFW Post 696 Honor Guard and U. S.
