Bernice Williams, 93, of Owensboro, KY passed away Monday at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born in Utica, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A Williams; a daughter, Wanda A. Bond; and one brother, Aaron Hayden. Bernice retired from the Owensboro Board of Education after 18 years of service. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Chapel, the Knights of Peter Clayburn Auxillary, Amaranth Chapter #46, and a recipient of the Sophia Award. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Jacques (Yulanda) Williams; one daughter, Wonet (Randall) Taylor; one brother, David Hayden; two sisters, Hannah Hayden and Joan Hayden; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Chapel. Visitation is Friday 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 to 10:30 at McFarland Funeral Home Chapel.
