Delbert L. Howard, 65, of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away on January 6, 2026, at Heartford House.

Delbert enjoyed the simple joys of life, especially watching NASCAR and wrestling. He was an active and dedicated member of the N.A. Recovery Group and attended Active Day for 21 years, where he built lasting friendships. A man of faith, he was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of God. Delbert also proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1977 to 1983.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Kenneth Colwell; and siblings Darrell Lloyd, Sharon Lloyd, Debbie Lloyd, and Bonnie Kays.

Delbert leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, Terry Howard and Donna White; his two children, Scotty Howard and Ashley Howard; his grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026, at McFarland Funeral Home, 1001 W. 5th St., Owensboro, KY 42301. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Field of Honor, with full military honors by local VFW Post 696..
