Donald Reginald West JR.,49 of Owensboro departed this life on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Hazel West Sr. Don confessed his faith in God at an early age. He was a Charter Member of Cedar Street Missionary Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Owensboro High School, where he was a member of the 1983 4A State -At- Large Championship Football Team. He later attended Eastern Kentucky University. Don was a veteran of the US Navy. He was best known for his time as a manager of the H.L. Neblett Community Center. He was also later employed by Texas Gas Transmission Corporation. He loved spending time with family and friends. Don was an avid sports fan and a lover of food. He was a charismatic person who never met a stranger. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 30 years, Michelle; his children, Tadd (Erica) West, Ara Moorman, Reginald West, Kayla West, and Gabrielle West; four grandchildren; one brother, Vance (Velina) West; three aunts, two uncles and 1 great-aunt and a host of cousins and friends. Services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday at Cedar Street Missionary Baptist Church, 824 Cedar Street. Visitation will be at 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Saturday at the church.
