Owensboro native and Minster Esther Black, 92, transcended this earthly life to be with the Lord on August 7, 2022. Throughout her life, Esther was a member and founder of the prominent local gospel group The Joys of Salvation and also a part of The Hayden Sisters group. She traveled to many places to spread the gospel, sing, and play the piano. Esther was known for her heart of service, having paved the way for other ministers through her training, teachings, and music. She briefly served as pastor for several churches in the Owensboro area. Esther also led a nursing home ministry for many years and held bible studies. She was a college graduate and holder of a degree in business. Esther was preceded in death by her parents and a son. Esther leaves to cherish her memories, two sisters, three daughters, a son, and many grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.
