Flora Louise Daugherty, 98, of Owensboro departed this life Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Heartford House in Owensboro. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucy Smith; four brothers, Mack, Joe, Omar and Todd; and three sisters, Flora E., Pearl and Georgia. Flora was an active member of Church of the Living God, where she was the "Mother" of the church until declining health earlier this year. She loved to work word search puzzles. She leaves to cherish her memories and mourn the loss of her passing, seven great-nieces, Patsy, Joyce, Kathy, Mae, Francine, Rebecca and Marilyn; three great-nephews, Robert Jerry and Ricky; and a host of other family members and friends. Services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at the Church of the Living God at the corner of Fifth Street & Maple Street in Owensboro. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Wednesday at the church. Burial in Cates Cemetery in Whitesville. McFarland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
