Rev. George W. "Peel" Palmer, 84, of Owensboro, departed this life on Monday at the Henderson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Stanley, KY to the late Norman Sr. and Naomi Palmer; he also was preceded in death by his wife, Sabrina Howard Palmer; one daughter, Devarex Palmer; four sisters, Mary Lucille, Lorena, Geraldine and Jennifer; five brothers, Norman Jr, Josephus, Douglas, John Thomas and Tony; two step-daughters and two step-sons. Rev. Palmer, was a minister, and was a member of Victory Temple COGIC. He was a veteran of the US Army. Rev. Palmer was a former member of State Street Baptist Church. He leaves to mourn the loss of his passing and cherish his memories, two daughters, Gwendolyn (Roy) Blackmon, and Anita Rubio; two sons, Azi (Toni) Palmer and Jahi (Kyle) Gardner-Palmer; three step-daughters, Carolyn, Joanna, Geneva; one step-son Michael; one brother, Rev. Keith Palmer; one sister, Sandra Carrero, and two sisters-in-laws, Mary E. (Jason) Boyd and Gayle Taylor; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
