Horace Edward Barnes, 87, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital and Respiratory Center in Mount Vernon, Kentucky. He was born July 22, 1930 to the late Clovis and Eva Morton Barnes. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Robert, Junius and Edward Taylor, Louis, Donald, and Maxie Barnes; two sisters, Charlesetta Simmons and Emma Acton. He was a member of Greater Ebenezer Temple where he served as a deacon of the church. Horace was a Veteran of the US Army. Horace leaves to cherish his memories and mourn the loss of his passing one sister, Catherine B. Acton; two step-daughters, Adela Cooper and Christy Hardaway; six nieces and three nephews; a host of great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; great-great-great nieces and nephews; cousins and friends. Private Memorial Service will be held at McFarland Funeral Home Chapel.
