Isaac Monroe Brown, Jr. affectionately known as "Ike," was born January 9, 1951, in Owensboro, Kentucky, and transitioned peacefully on November 9, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at age 74. Ike was the eldest child of the late Isaac Monroe Brown, Sr. and Minnie (Crowe) Brown. He was also preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Henry Kermit and Frances Brown—who nurtured, guided, and raised him as their own. He attended Owensboro High School and Western Kentucky University, where his athletic abilities flourished. Known for his determination and talent, he was drafted by the New England Patriots and later played for the Richmond Roadrunners, Richmond Saints, Roanoke Buckskins, and the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL. After his football career, Ike devoted more than two decades to his business, Kaleidoscope Kennel, earning a respected reputation among Doberman enthusiasts for his selective breeding and dedicated care. The dogs he raised and loved—Diablo, Taz, Nikita, Maya, Cali, Ebony, and Keesha—reflected his devotion. He is survived by five daughters: Candace Brown of Roanoke, Virginia, Nicole (Bryan A.) James of Dallas, Texas, Rosalind Brown of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Alexis (Christopher) Rogers of Plymouth, Minnesota, Shajuana Davis of Dallas, Texas, Whitney (Derrian) Lowe of Atlanta, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters: Lelia (Joe) Taylor Jr. of Owensboro, Kentucky, Patricia (Anthony) Jones of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Clesta Lanita Compton of Rockport, Indiana; two brothers: James Arthur Greer of Stuttgart, Germany and William Henry Greer of Owensboro, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones. Ike will be remembered for his strength, his passion, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
