Luanna Curry Allen 77, of Owensboro, departed this life on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Owensboro and was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Allen; two daughters, Carmencita Jackson and Quellen Allen; one son, Orlando Allen; one grandson, Eric Floyd. Luanna was retired from Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church where she served on the Nurses Guild and Usher Board. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars Amaranth Chapter # 46. Luanna leaves to cherish her memories and mourn the loss of her passing one son, Ruben B. Allen Jr.; two daughters, Jacquetta Tyus and Qianna Allen Drain; eleven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one brother, Herman (Rhonda) Smith; one sister, Catherine Robinson; and a sister-in-law, Betty McCreary, a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends. Services will be 10:00 am Saturday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Burial in Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at McFarland Funeral Home and 9:00 am to 10:00 am Saturday at the Church. Eastern Stars Services will be a 7:30 pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
