Nancy Pearl Humphrey, 90 of Owensboro, transitioned from this life to eternal life on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was united with Elbert Humphrey, the love of her life for 70 years. She was a devoted member of Tenth Street Missionary Baptist Church where she let her light shine through the Matron's Auxiliary, Deaconness Board, B.B. Tandy Missionary Circle, Board of Christian Education, through Sunday School and encouraging women from all walks of life. She enjoyed worshipping, reading God's word, cooking and spending time with her family. Nancy Pearl attended what is now Kentucky State College and received an emergency certificate to teach at Livermore School. She was also employed by the Kaplan family and enjoyed the time she spent working in the retail business. Preceded in death by her parents; Henry and Lelia Brown and son; Garrett Humphrey, Sr. Survivors include two sons; Billy (Jean) Humphrey of Memphis, TN and John Humphrey of Evansville, IN, two daughters; Beverly (Rudolph) Terry of Evansville, IN and Belinda (William) Haliburton of Owensboro, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews. Services will be 1:00 pm Friday at Tenth Street Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday at the church and noon to 1:00pm Friday at the church.
