Phyllis Winstead Moore, 71, of Owensboro departed this life on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at her daughter's home in Indianapolis, IN. Phyllis was born in Owensboro to the late Johnnie and Berniece Hall Winstead Sr. She moved to Indianapolis at an early age and graduated from Crispus Attucks High School and Owensboro Vocational College Nursing School. Phyllis was a member of Rock Church, where she served and attended services faithfully and also was as a mother of the church. She enjoyed helping others. She was a former member of Church of the Living God P.G.T. She retired from the V.A. Clinic in Owensboro and St. Mary's Medical Center (Regina Continuing Care). Her husband, James "Dickie" Moore Sr. preceded her in death. Phyllis leaves to cherish her memories and mourn the loss of her passing, three sons, Oliver (Robin) Williams, Phillip Moore and James Moore Jr; one daughter, Terri Moore; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Johnnie (Toni) Winstead Jr., Terris Winstead, Mark Winstead, and Keith Winstead; five sisters, Patti Jones, Sheryl (Alan) Miller, Carolyn (Steve) Moorman, and Lisa (Marcus) Chapman and Ada James; one aunt, Christine Modock along with a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
