ROY LYNN NEWTON Age 69 of Owensboro, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Survived by one daughter, Sabrina Newton of Houston, Texas; ex-wife Carmen Newton of Houston, Texas; along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Lee Newton, Sr.; his mother, Hazel Bellamy Newton; his brother, Kenneth Lee Newton, Jr. of Munster, Indiana; and his brother, Raymond D. Newton of Hammond, Indiana.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, and loved his country until the day he passed away. He had 25 years of industrial maintenance experience and was a stationary engineer/building operator. He was licensed in air conditioning, heating and refrigeration, as well as EPA certified. He graduated with an Associates Degree of Applied Science at Owensboro Community and Technical College. He had a passion for rebuilding classic trucks, cars, and Harley Davidson’s.
He had an immense love for all animals, particularly his dog Luke that sadly disappeared at some point, as well as his cat, Jenny Lynn and last dog, Gunner Blue, who is now with his daughter in Texas. He treated all animals like they were human, spoiling them as much as he could. He had a passion for motorcycles, in particular his last Harley Davidson, FatBoy, he loved being on the open road riding his motorcycle. He loved reading and listening to music in his down time.
No services will be held at the request of the family.
