Obituary

Sherale M. Greer

August 16, 1974 – November 3, 2026

Sherale M. Greer, 52, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2026 surrounded by the love of her seven daughters. Though her time here was far too short, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the lives she touched will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Sherale was born on August 16, 1974, in Owensboro, Kentucky to James Greer and the late Doraine Hanley. Throughout her life, Sherale wore many hats, but the one she cherished most was being a mother. In her early years, she worked at National Linen and Hermitage Rehabilitation Center as a dietitian. She later found her greatest joy in being a stay-at-home mother, dedicating her time to raising her children and caring for her family. As the years passed, one of her greatest blessings was becoming a grandmother. She treasured spending time with her grandchildren and loved having her family close.

Sherale's life was centered around her family, and the love she shared with them will be carried on through generations. Her presence, her love, and the memories made together will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her lifelong partner, Lawrence Merriwether; her son, Kevin M. Greer; her mother, Doraine Hanley; her father, Ardell Hanley; and her maternal grandparents, Georgia L. Rowan and Stanley Turner.

She leaves to cherish her memory her seven daughters: Mariah Greer, Cierra Greer, Trionna Greer, Sade Reeves (Rahkeem) of Clarksville, Tennessee, Casshai Greer, Tayonna Greer of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Tavyonna Greer.

She also leaves behind her two sons, Kennie Green of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and William Merriweather.

Her loving memory will also be cherished by her siblings: Arian Greer (Krista), LaShawna Hanley (Chico), Katrina Greer (Terence), and Kevin Greer (Kenya) of Atlanta, Georgia, and her God-Mother/Life long special friend Virgina Johnson.

Sherale was a proud grandmother to her fourteen grandchildren: AaRiah Greer, RiShaad Cason, Rahkeem Cason, Sa’Myah Reeves, Xi’Mir Adams, Ziyah Reeves, Jo’Rico Greer, Antonio Marigny Jr., Jaryah Reeves, Uriah Reeves, Trenton Greer, and Zakiah Reeves, Dekendra Torian, KeAnthony Merriweather, and Z'Nyiah Owsley.

She also leaves behind her beloved uncle, William Greer; several aunts and uncles across generations; a host of cousins, many of whom were more like brothers and sisters; several nieces and nephews; and a large circle of extended family and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Though Sherale may no longer be with us in body, her love will live on through her children, grandchildren, and everyone blessed enough to have known her. Her legacy is not measured by the years she lived, but by the love she gave and the family she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
