Thelma Marie Acton was born in Daviess County to the late Steven P. Hayden and Camp Gertrude Mays. She was the second child of seven children of whom two have preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leward M. Acton Sr. and one great grandchild. Thelma attended Western High School. She was an employee of First Baptist Church, Morrison Café and Mary Kendall Home where she retired. Early in life "Sister Thelma" acknowledged Christ as her personal savior at Tenth Street Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, playing cards and sitting outside with her friends. Thelma leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her passing seven children, Sabrina Russell, Yardley Acton, Deborah Acton, Ledward Acton Jr, Danny Ray Acton, Karen Carbon and Anthony Jerome Acton; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Smith, Florence Douglas, and Lucinda (John) Calhoun; one brother, Phillip Douglas; two brothers-in-law, Wesley Acton and Golden Acton; one sister-in-law, Lena Tinsley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
