Whitney LaShea O'Bryan December 18, 1988 – July 29, 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Whitney LaShea O'Bryan, aged 36, who departed this world on July 29, 2025. Whitney leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and an indomitable spirit that touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. Finding joy in life's simplest pleasures, Whitney enjoyed singing and dancing with abandon, preparing meals that brought her and her children together, and loving her dog, Chica. Her laughter could fill a room, and her welcoming heart made her home a haven not only for her family but also for countless friends whom she embraced as family. Whitney is preceded in death by her parents, whose memories she held dear and honored. She is survived by her beloved children Shane Embry Durban (20), Julius Monroe Taylor (18), Serenity LaShea Taylor (16), Talivia Kimora O'Bryan (14), and Elijah Lee O'Bryan (14); her brothers Kelsey, Preston, David, Josh Powell, Doc Taylor, her sisters Crystal and Lady, and her Fiancé Stephen Edgell. As well as a vast network of family and friends who cherished her as a sister and confidante. A celebration of Whitney's life will take place at 4 p.m. on Tuesday Aug. 12 at McFarland Funeral Home, with visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, where we will gather to share memories that honor the vibrant person she was. Although Whitney's physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit survives through her children and in the hearts of everyone she touched with her love. She will forever be missed and loved.
