William Keith Griffith, 54, of Owensboro passed away while battling a chronic illness on Tuesday December 26, 2023. He was born June 25, 1969 in Owensboro to Dorothy Simmons and William "Med" Griffith. William graduated from OHS and worked for Tumbleweed Restaurant. He enjoyed playing chess, watching the tv show Swamp Thing and supporting all U of L athletic teams. William loved his family and enjoyed their company with a deep passion. He was preceded recently in death by a compassionate grandmother, Betty Washington and special uncle, Monroe Griffith, Jr. Left behind to mourn his loss are his parents; siblings Ricardo "Ricky" (Diane) Simmons, Joyce "Baby Sister" (Frank Jones) Griffith, Mark Griffith, Calvin Brooks of Louisville, Layson Brooks, Jr of Lewisport; stepmother Maxine Griffith; stepfather Layson Brooks, Sr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thank you goes out to both his caregiver Jessica Jones and HPC of Western KY. A celebration of William Griffith's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday December 30, 2023 at Zion Baptist Church, with Pastor Clarence Tapp officiating and Pastor Larry Lewis as eulogist. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday December 29 at McFarland Funeral Home, 1001 W 5th St, Owensboro, KY 42301 and from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the church.
